New Super Eagles defender Bryan Idowu succumbed to a 3-0 defeat in the Russian Premier League, no thanks to another Nigeria international, Sylvester Igboun.

Idowu, who made a goalscoring debut for Nigeria in last month’s international friendly with Argentina,  was part of the Amkar Perm defence that was terrorized by Igboun, who netted a brace and an assist for his club Ufa, to help them earn the maximum points.

Igboun opened his account for the day in the 53rd minute, before completing his brace in the 69th. He then turned provider with 10 minutes left on the clock, as his side sealed a comfortable win over Amkar, which also paraded another Nigerian, Fegor Ogude.

The goals were the 27-year-old’s sixth in 18 Russian top-flight encounter for the Neftyanik Stadium outfit, now sixth in the log.

Meanwhile, Fatai Kehinde sat on the bench all through for Ufa.
