It has to be Samuel Umtiti.

Since Puyol departed there’s been a huge void in the team. Neither Jeremy Mathieu or Thomas Vermaelen could fill it. But then came Samuel Umtiti who cemented his place in the fist team with his consistent performances.

Barcelona were lucky to get him for €25 Million. In today’s market he would be going for a minimum of €40 Million.

Lyon's president has been quoted saying "Barcelona should invite me to the Champions League final for gifting them Umtiti" .

He has been solid for the team and he rarely commits any defensive errors. His stats this season show how good he is in both passing and defensive duties.

He has got good passing skills and complements Pique well at the heart of the defence. He has adapted quickly and is a massive asset for the team right now.

If you look at his stats for the season 2016–17, you will understand how integral he has been to the team. He compliments the Barcelona style of play by being good in both the defence and attack. Defenders playing for Barcelona are generally known for their incredible attacking verve, accuracy in the pass and possession of the ball and Umtiti checks all the requirements.

It’s Samuel Umtiti, without a doubt. He is one of the reason (after Ter Stegen) why Barca have conceded less goals this season, and under Valvrede he seems to be improving at a rapid speed.

What a signing he has been,just for 25 millions ,in a world where people buy mediocre defenders like John Stones and Virgil Van Dijk for 50 millions and 75 Millions respectively.

Umtiti is a world class defender and is the best defender barca have right now..

Undoubtedly Samuel Umtiti. He has been barca 's most successful transfer in the recent years. In today's transfer market where CB like John stone is sold for 50 million, Umtiti's signing was absolute bargain for us. He is surely going to be our next “Puyol ”. He is strong, great passer, a great takcler and more importantly, he is solid as rock in the defense.
