Singer Burna Boy has been declared wanted by the police
in conjuction with his role in the assault on Mr 2Kay.
The singer was alleged to have contracted some young
men through his manager to rob and beat up MR 2Kay.
His team has given reason why he is yet to honour the
police invitation claiming he is busy in the studio and
attending to shows.
Dancehall singer Burna Boy has been in the news lately for
the assault on fellow singer Mr 2Kay. The Soke singer is
known to be controversial but the controversy he has
been linked to lately seem to be more than he can handle
alone.
Naijablognews had earlier reported that the singer was
alleged to have sponsored some guys with the help of his
manager to beat up Mr 2Kay in his Eko Hotel and Suites
room on October 22, 2017.
Mr 2Kay was mercilessly
beaten while his attackers also made away with some of
his valuables and cash found on him.
Though the culprits have been arrested and are cooling off
at the Lagos state police station, the whereabouts of their
sponsor, Burna Boy is unknown which has made the
police to have declared him as wanted.
What could have kept the singer away from answering the
call of the Lagos state police? Punch reports that the
singer is in the country against speculations that he might
have travelled out of the country but that he is
preoccupied in the studio.
Punch quoted a source as saying: “Burna Boy is neither on
the run nor avoiding the police; he is not guilty. I cannot
tell you his exact whereabouts but he is in the country
recording. Also, you should know that as the festive
season approaches, demand for his services would be on
the increase, so he is preparing for appearances as well.
Initially, when he was invited, he could not go to the
station because of his engagements, so his father went to
the police station in his stead.
But now that the police
have insisted that they want to see him personally, he
would surely honour their invitation. He is not guilty of the
charges levelled against him.”
According to the suspects who carried out the attack,
they were paid N100,000 by one Joel Kantiock who works
as Burna Boy’s road manager.
For the first, we heard of Burna Boy’s father who has
always been silent in his music career.
His father was the
one who honoured the police invitation sent to the
musician.
He promised the police that the singer will
show up soon.
When will Burna Boy be less busy to honour the police
call???.
