The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has explained why the 2018 UTME results of 111,981 candidates were withheld.
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, the exam body released over 1.5 million results, but some candidates could not check their results.
The board, however, immediately announced that the results of 111,981 candidates were withheld saying that the results had to be further examined.
Following the release, the Board's Head of Media and Publicity, Dr Fabian Benjamin while speaking with Premium Times on Wednesday, March 21, explained the reasons why the results of the affected candidates were not released.

Here are the three main reasons the exam body did not release the results of over 100,000 candidates according to JAMB's spokeman.
1. Use of banned items in the exam hall
“There were candidates who went into the examination halls with materials that were banned. Telephone handsets and other materials were found on some of them''.
2. Some candidates attempted to change computers' IP address
“There were even candidates who attempted to change the IP addresses of the computer systems assigned to them.”
3. CBT centres gave expo to some candidates
“So entire centres were cancelled. Some are individual cases. There are centres that colluded with candidates. Maybe their owners collected monies from the candidates and were dictating answers''.

However, the board's spokesman said he is not sure the results of the affected candidates would be released adding that the release of the results ''depends on the outcomes of the investigations. We are being fair and diligent in the screening to ensure injustice is not done to anyone.”
If you're affected by this, kindly keep praying to God fervently.
